SOMArts is a vibrant, art-full place to visit whether you are seeing a performance, viewing an exhibition, taking a class, connecting with your neighbors or engaging with one of the Bay Area’s many cultural communities.
SOMArts is located at 934 Brannan St. (between 8th and 9th), San Francisco, CA 94103
SOMArts has two entrances: the Main Entrance (access to Bay Gallery, Main Gallery, Sixth Street Photography Workshop, SOMArts administrative offices, theater, darkroom, print studio and downstairs classroom) and the the Brannan Street Entrance (access to ArtSpan and Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center offices, upstairs classroom, dance studio).
The Main Entrance (yellow double doors pictured) is located down the long driveway on the right side of the building, and doors are kept open during public hours. The Brannan Street Entrance faces Brannan Street and features a doorbell for entry by appointment.
Transportation & Parking
SOMArts is within two blocks of Muni lines 12, 19, 27 and 47. Detailed public transit and bicycle directions are available on Google Maps.
Street parking is available (and usually plentiful after 6pm). Flat rate, uncovered lot parking is accessible at 935 Brannan at 8th St. For more information about nearby parking options, click here.
A bike rack is available near the Main Entrance (down the driveway). Plan your bike route.
SOMArts is wheelchair accessible, and in proximity to several nearby public transportation stops. SOMArts does not have automatic doors at its Main Entrance. Two accessible parking spots are available on-site during most events, except when signs are posted and the back area lot is being used for artistic programming. SOMArts is not entirely scent free, but efforts have been made to use low scent and green cleaning products.
