In order to connect with our community, we have to reflect our community. Join us to talk about employment equity in the arts for people with disabilities. Come learn about ways to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities at your cultural organization. Hear from employees with disabilities who will share their employment experiences working with different San Francisco cultural organizations including the Exploratorium, Academy of Sciences, and The Contemporary Jewish Museum.

Discussion topics will range from supported employment partnerships to unsupported full time direct hire positions. This is a great opportunity to sit down with your local supported employment experts in order to hear about potential partnership opportunities at the cultural organizations you are all a part of. You will leave with the necessary contacts, knowledge, and connections to create supported employment that will bridge into competitive employment opportunities.

To attend, RSVP to the workshop presenters, Bay Area Arts Access Collective, at BayAreaArtsAccess@gmail.com.

As a bonus, the workshop takes place among the art in SOMArts’ DIS/PLAY exhibition, in which artists with and without disabilities claim and define their own identities, experiment, and make their own rules. Click here to learn more about this exhibit.
