BLOODLINES: A Medical Mission to Iloilo, Philippines

In recognition of Filipino-American History month, the documentary film, BLOODLINES: A Medical Mission to Iloilo, Philippines, will screen for one night only in San Francisco's SomArts Cultural Center on Wednesday, October 20th, 2004 to call attention to striking health disparities in developing countries.
The film chronicles the 2003 medical mission of the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California (PMSNC), following volunteer doctors, nurses and support staff who travel to Iloilo, a province in central Philippines, to serve an impoverished community that lacks access to basic healthcare.
Bay Area-based filmmaker James Espinas and Timothy Kiley team up with Ayala Foundation USA and Asian American arts nonprofit Kearny Street Workshop to bring the highly-acclaimed film to an ever-growing audience base. Ayala Foundation USA board member, Dr. Ofie Maristela; Philippine Medical Society President, Dr. Carmelo Roco and Filmmaker James Espinas will be present for Q&A discussion. Film run time: 53 minutes.
