Street Workshop presents:
APAture: A Window on the Art of Young
Asian Pacific Americans
A two-week, multidisciplinary arts festival, Kearny Street Workshop's
APAture presents, examines and discusses the work of emerging, Bay
Area, APA artists between the ages of 18 and 35. Each year, through
APAture, Kearny Street Workshop is able to present over 100 new
and working regional artists in APAture's five disciplinary categories:
visual, literary, performing, musical/sound, and projection arts.
The event comprises a two-week gallery exhibition, an artist/community
panel discussion, an evening of film and video screenings, an evening
of performances and readings, and the main event: a twelve-hour
Saturday expo with performances, readings, music, exhibitions, demonstrations,
and artists' booths. Featured Artists: Sabina Chen, Russell Reza-Khaliq
(Gonzaga), Raj Kahlon, Neela Moorty, Teatro Ng Tanan, Stuart Gaffney
