The
Caring-A-ton Fundraisers
in association with The National Foundation for
Transplants (NFT) proudly presents five benefit
performances* of
Edward Albee's
Who's
Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
The first stage production of this riveting Edward Albee play premiered
on October 13, 1962. It was then, most famously, brought to the big
screen in 1965; starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Since
then it has proved to be a favorite of theater companies throughout
the world.
This
unique and tantalizing production of Albee's Tony Award winning Classic,
directed by Teo Ariola, offers a surreal, film noir atmosphere that
accentuates this dark comedy. The audience, seated on the campus grounds
of New Carthage, are brought to the terrible edge of George and Martha's
games of truth and illusion. The actors and production team include
a host of talented people from the local theater community and film
industry, all of whom are donating their time and talent in service
to our fundraising efforts. We invite you to join George, Martha, Nick
and Honey for an evening of fun and games at one of the following performances
of this classic work of the Modern American Theatre.

All proceeds will be donated to the NFT
Diana Carrington Fund.
The
Caring-a-ton Fundraisers
is a loose affiliation of the friends and associates of Diana Carrington
who have banded together in a continuing accumulation of individual
and collective efforts toward making possible Diana's transplant. It
is a testament to Diana's life that so many people, who might otherwise
never have met, have spontaneously united in support of her life. The
Fundraisers have already raised $40,000 of at least $75,000 needed.
The NFT is
a 501c3 non-profit organization that assists transplant patients nationwide
in raising funds for their life-saving surgery and aftercare. Their
involvement ensures that all donations for Diana are tax-deductible
and that funds raised will not be used for any purpose other than to
pay Diana's transplant-related expenses and fundraising event expenses. |
