SomArts Gallery will be presenting “Horses and Resources” during the month of November, 2004.  This exhibition comes to SomArts Gallery from Ulaan Bator, Mongolia, and will feature artists working with the traditional imagery of the Mongolian horse, as well as the contemporary images of the great natural resources of that ancient land. Especially featured will be sculptor Bat-Erdene Damdinsuren, who makes wonderful imaginative animal sculptures from discarded materials. He will design and construct art pieces from recycled materials here in San Francisco, as part of the cultural exchange. This exhibition is a joint project of SomArts Cultural Center, Golden Gate Friends of Mongolia (GGFOM), the Union of Mongolian Artists, and the International Culture Exchange Society (ICES).
