Papermaking Workshop by Jacqueline Mallegni: sat. february 8, 10am- 2pm
bindings: two artists explore interior and environmental spaces
an exhibition of installation works by environmental artist Daniel McCormick
and paper sculptor Jacqueline Mallegni reflects the nature of environments; physical and psychological. 'Bound' together by intention and use of natural materials, these two artists work intersect in the realm of emotional and ecological environments.

Marin Art Council grant recipient, Daniel McCormick's watershed sculptures will be seen in SomArts gallery setting before they are installed in the Olema Valley at Point Reyes National Seashore where they become silt traps, and erosion control devises for damaged gullies and stream banks. McCormick's large-scale works are sculptural art forms, and act as effective assistants in the restoration of watershed ecosystems.

Jacqueline Mallegni's introspective sculpture imbibe a sense of involvement with one's interior environment. Using natural materials along with illumination and Japanese handmade paper, Mallegni's sculpture speak of the expanse of past, present and future.
