Art

September 5th, 3:30pm
Dates: September 5th - 26th

The
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the SomArts Cultural
Center invite you and a guest to a community dialogue and opening reception
on Friday, September 5, 2003 for LIQUID ART. A Celebration of Southern
California Public Artworks Incorporating Water.
The
dialogue, "Water in a New Way," will include a panel of artists
and water resource specialists who will discuss what's been missing
in California's Water conversations. This interactive session will run
from 3:30 until 5:30pm in the SomArts Cultural Center's theatre venue
and will be followed by an opening reception for Liquid Art in the main
gallery from 5:30 until 7:30.

or dsass@mwdh2o.com
Parking will be available at the CalTrans parking lot located adjacent
to SomArts.
The
popular notion about Southern California is that there's a swimming
pool in every backyard and water waste is rampant.
But the
truth is that urban Southern California conserves and recycles as much
water as San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose in a typical year.
Breaking
down outdated barriers will be the agenda of the public dialogue from
3:30 to 5:30 on Friday, September 5th. |
