For its 9th annual United States of Asian America Festival, the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center is showcasing 13 Asian Pacific Islander artists and organizations that exemplify the best in dance, music, visual art, theater and multidisciplinary performance. The Festival runs from May 5 – June 24, 2006.

NGUYEN DANCE COMPANY PRESENTS "BEAUTY." May 5, 8 pm. Nguyen Dance Company, in association with Asian American Dance Performances, presents "Beauty" at the SomArts Cultural Center.

In their new production, "Beauty," Nguyen Dance Company explores romantic relationships, personal struggles, and the differences that exist between genders, cultures and lifestyles. Through music composed by lil-t (Tyler Crosser) and movement choreographed by Danny Nguyen and Tiffany Barbarash, the story of Sean and Theresa comes alive, expressing true emotion, vulnerability, experience, and the revelation of identity. "Beauty" illustrates the behaviors, actions and interactions of men and women in a contemporary context with the dynamic expression of the arts.
