A Night at Miss Mimi's
December 7th, 2006
Doors open at 7:30pm, show at 8:00pm

On December 7, 2006 Bombshell Betty Dance in association with Gepetto Dreams presents the wildest night of Burlesque ever to hit the bay area!

With doors opening at 7:30 pm at the SOMArts Cultural Center at 934 Brannan Street in San Francisco and the show starting promptly at 8pm, the evening will begin with live sexy, funny, and musical acts. With live music by Lucifer’s Strip Club Band, Bottoms Up! Burlesque will Wow! the audience with the talents of Bombshell Betty, Lily leRouge, Sweet Cheeks, Coconuts, Banana Peel, Mynx D’Meanor and more! The wild and wooly antics of this troupe’s song and dance routines are not to be missed. The $15 admission at the door will also include a bevy of Bay Area Beauties and Cuties as “Bombshell Betty’s Debut Taunts will entertain with acts from Burlesquersize.

After a short break the show will continue by traveling into the surreal with the mesmerizations of Gepetto Dreams Production of “A Night at Miss Mimi’s”, an hour long all Puppet Burlesque show in and of itself. With eight wild acts to thrill and amuse, this crazy cabaret pays homage to the comedy, music, and dance of the old time Burly-Qs as well as to the new style Burlesque who’s popularity is sweeping the nation. All performed by six 36 inch tall anthropomorphic puppets, this show will appeal to audiences age 18 to 80 with it’s combination of nostalgia and hip modern trendiness.

“A Night at Miss MiMi’s” has been a year in the making and has been funded through a substantial performing arts grant from the Creative Capital Foundation in New York City . The performance is a mixture of western Rod Puppetry and Japanese style Bunraku where Mimi's puppeteers are in plain sight, dressed in black clothes and hoods. It takes two to three puppeteers to put the dancers through their paces so the audience has the opportunity to see the teamwork and fluid movement it takes to bring each character to life. This style makes the experience not only visually entertaining but enlightening as well.
