Colors from Mongolia EXTENDED THROUGH LABOR DAY WEEKEND gallery hours (Tuesday to Saturday, noon - 4 PM), SomArts Gallery will be open on Sunday, September 3 from noon until 4 pm and Monday, September 4 from noon until 6 pm. 
COLORS FROM MONGOLIA, the first exhibition of contemporary Mongolian art ever in the United States, will be extended through the Labor Day weekend. The acclaimed exhibition with over sixty works, both painting and sculpture, by twenty of the most important artists in Mongolia,
Artist Dorjjadambin Erdembileg, visiting from Mongolia, will be honored at a special closing reception on Labor Day, Monday, September 4 from 4 – 6 PM. The reception will feature entertainment, refreshments and Mongolian foods.

This exhibition displays the works of twenty artists. There are 82 works of art (several of which are displayed here), including oil paintings, zurags (painting with thangka and Persian miniature inspiration), eight bronze and wood sculptures and a prize-winning leather and cord sculpture.The oils vary in size from eight inches by six inches to five feet by six feet. Subject matter encompasses Mongolian folklore, landscape and the culture's ancient themes.
