These performances of CONCEPTIONS will benefit COLAGE (Children of Lesbians & Gays Everywhere) and All Our Families Coalition. Purple Moon Dance Project's exciting, new full length work offers a rare opportunity to experience the many layered journeys traveled by lesbian mothers, through dance. The choreography of "Conceptions" will reflect the stories of more than 30 women, expressed through Purple Moon's signature style: sensual, intimate and eclectic, eloquent in its interweaving of nonwestern and western traditions which reflect the diversity of the company's artists and collaborators. Jill Togawa's co-creators Afia Walking Tree, Gwen Jones and Avotcja will use drums, ancient instruments and poetic voice in their live improvisation and score, while the seven dancers move through and in the interactive set and costume design by Angelina DeAntonis, highlighted by an evocative use of photographic images by Cathy Cade.

This event is presented by the National Queer Arts Festival. Visit the QAF website at http://www.queerculturalcenter.org
