Sunday, July 23, 2000 8:15pm SUMMER CELLULOID Films by David Michalak and live music by Reel Change
Admission is $6.00 and a reception and chat with the filmmaker will follow.
Since 1971 Michalak has written, produced and directed over 50 films! This program includes his latest: When The Spirit Moves (1999), a color saturated fairy-tale that explores the ancient myth of the Keeper Of The Forest and Her care for an Evolving Creature and Inside-Out (1996), a collaboration with the Kate Foley Dance Co. and The Club Foot Orchestra.
The show also features David's recently formed soundtrack trio, REEL CHANGE, with Andrew Voigt, (ex-Rova Saxophone Quartet) and Joe Sabella, (Bill Horwitz group). The trio will perform live scores for the rarely screened Fall Of The House Of Usher, a 1928 version of the Poe story by Webber and Watson and other shorts. This event promises to be one of the most exciting film shows this summer!
