San Francisco-based literacy arts nonprofit Streetside Stories is proud to announce their annual Anthology Release Party on Wednesday, May 25th 2011. This free event honors the 2,500 Bay Area youth that participated in the digital, written and theatrical Streetside Stories programs presented during the 2010-2011 academic year. Student work included stories told through prose and poetry, short digital film, and drawings. This year’s print and DVD anthology, How I Rise, includes work from many of Streetside’s Bay Area students. The evening will feature an awards ceremony honoring participants, a student art showcase, and a keynote address from 2011 foreword author Karen Tei Yamashita.
