This multi-disciplinary exhibition combines diverse perspectives to engage the lived experience of queer bodies and minds, and looks closely at intimacy in its many forms. The Most Sincere Gesture features work from New Orleans-based queer artists. It will be on view for a limited amount of time before traveling to Detroit to be exhibited at the Allied Media Conference 2014.
The opening reception coincides with the National Queer Arts Festival and the opening of three other multi-disciplinary queer art exhibitions at SOMArts Cultural Center: the group exhibitions Second Helpings and Queer Cultural Center’s Body, body, bodies, and Feral, Kiernan Dunn’s solo exhibition in The Ramp Gallery.
The Most Sincere Gesture is presented at SOMArts through participation in the Affordable Space Program, which provides below-market rental space, production and publicity assistance to artists and nonprofit organizations. For more information visit our rentals page.
