What: Live Neighborhood News Network newscast!

Broadcasting live from SOMArts, n3′s second live show will address some of the issues facing San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood today, reported by a group of community journalists.
Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) engages under-served communities in San Francisco by providing community members with journalistic skills and access to technology. BAVC’s newest project is the neighborhood news network—or n3—which will enable residents to produce television news at mini-studios in their neighborhoods. An SF Commons remote studio has been assembled inside SOMArts to facilitate live newscasting by Neighborhood News Network (n3) SOMA. The first of three remote sites to launch, the SF Commons SOMA news team has been participating in video and journalism workshops for the last several months on site at SOMArts and at the Bay Area Video Coalition.
If you’re a SOMA resident, SF Commons producer, or simply interested in participating in future shows, contact firstname.lastname@example.org to learn how become a member of the news team.
