Open Call to Bay Area Artists Participating in the Occupy Wall Street Movement

In connection with the upcoming exhibition I Am Crime: Art on the Edge of the Law, SOMArts Cultural Center invites Bay Area artists participating in the Occupy Wall Street movement to submit visual and media art and/or documentation of their activities for exhibition in the SOMArts Main Gallery during March and April, 2012.

I Am Crime examines artistic production that renders the artist criminal by accident or design, with an emphasis on art which tests boundaries and confronts the normative structure of legislation, public policy and the role of the state.

To submit a proposal, email a brief description of your work—including relevant details such as materials, dimensions and artist names—to gallery@somarts.org.

Selected artists will be responsible for delivering their work to the gallery and assisting in its installation.

SOMArts is located at 934 Brannan Street in San Francisco. More information about SOMArts programs is available at www.somarts.org.
