Celebrating 25 years of design and recycling with heart, Philanthropy by Design transforms nonprofit environments through design. PBD is a volunteer network of design industry professionals. The organization renovates the interior environments of community service organizations and save tons of furniture from the landfill through creative reuse. Their work benefits thousands of under served Bay Area residents; at-risk youth, abused women, seniors, AIDS patients and homeless people, bringing them hope, inspiration and comfort.
The evening will be packed with inspiring cultural offerings, including live graffiti art and music set by noted local artist Tion Bukue, a live fashion show introducing new looks and accessories created from reused materials by local designers, The Carol Butler Tappers, and “Have a Heart” Fundraiser, a silent auction and showcase of art from recycled materials including designer home accents, fashions, accessories, jewelry, artwork, gift certificates and more!
This event is presented at SOMArts through participation in the Affordable Space Program, which provides below-market rental space, production and publicity assistance to nonprofit organizations. For more information visit our rentals page.
