The Color Within is an exhibit by Bay Area-based artist Rahmat Balogun, which explores the theme of self-expression. The pieces displayed in this collection were created after she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in mid-2015. Each piece is an exploration of her self-expression through the medium of paint. In the piece Flowing, she seeks to express the ideas of progression and flow as the colors move off the canvas seemingly continuing to fall into the surrounding empty space. Each piece in this exhibit is a manifestation of this theme of self-expression as she attempts to express the various emotions through the process of beginning with a single idea or feeling and a blank canvas and subsequently creating in that space.
