Sex Worker Magic: A Talent Show & Closing Ceremony, February 25, 7–9pm

We’re Still Working: The Art of Sex Work is a multidisciplinary group exhibition created by, and in celebration of, sex workers. Curated by Maxine Holloway and Javier Luis Hurtado, We’re Still Working is the second exhibition in the 2016–2017 season of the SOMArts Curatorial Residency. The exhibition will encourage viewers to challenge dominant narratives about sex workers.

On Saturday, February 25, the artists and curators of We’re Still Working will transform SOMArts’ theater into a cabaret for one night only. Come witness what’s on these artists’ minds when they let them run wild! Sex worker performances are often dictated by their work, even though sex workers are multi-dimensional people with abilities that grow beyond your most magical dreams. For this reason, the Sex Worker Magic talent show will provide a platform for the sex worker community to express ourselves.

Expressed through a variety of performance art, movement, side-show, burlesque and and so much more. This event will be a fundraiser for El/La Trans Latinas and the St. James Infirmary Clinic. $20 per ticket. Click here to purchase tickets in advance.
