The Strangest Nude: Open Call for Non-normative Bodies, Deadline December 30

Performance artist Guillermo Gómez-Peña invites individuals with self-defined non-normative kinds of beautiful bodies interested in performing nude to send a photo to: thestrangestnude@gmail.com. The chosen two performers will be awarded a $50 stipend each to perform.

The performance will consist of a short four-minute piece directed by Guillermo Gómez-Peña to be presented live at SOMArts Cultural Center on January 4th, 2014 at 10pm, within the context of 100 Performances of the Hole, a night of 100 four-minute performances curated by SOMArts curator and gallery director Justin Hoover in, around and in relation to a 100 year old mechanics pit in the gallery floor. All body types encouraged to apply and we are specifically seeking non-normative kinds of beautiful bodies interested in performing nude in front of the public. Each performer selected will receive a $50 stipend for their performance, free admission to the event and access to a viewing lounge with free beer sponsored by Ninkasi Brewing Company.

Submission instructions:
Submit your proposal via email no later than midnight, Monday the 30th of December, 2013 to thestrangestnude@gmail.com.

Submissions consists of a photo of yourself nude, your phone number and your email address.

The two selected individuals will be contacted on the third of January and will be invited to arrive at the SOMArts gallery, located at 934 Brannan St. on the night of the 4th to perform live.

All submissions will remain confidential and never shared or appear in any form of reproduction, publication, advertisement or marketing without express permission of the photographer and the artist.

Due to the nature of the event, the live performance may be recorded by individuals in the audience.
