The News is the new place to see fresh, queer performance by Bay Area artists. On the first Tuesday of each month The News will spotlight performance pieces, experiments, and works in progress by pre-selected solo artists, groups, or troupes. An informal session for artist-led critical feedback follows the performances.

This November The News, curated and hosted by opening readers Nic Alea and Cam Awkward-Rich, features talent from The New Shit Show community, including Indira Allegra, Eli Conway, Caleb Feigin, Daphne Gottlieb, Kay Nilsson, Jeana Poindexter, Julian Shendelman and Brandon Young.

The New Shit Show is an evening of world premiers where only never before heard work is heard and celebrated. The New Shit show cultivates community and access to raw, vulnerable, and important work, and supports the editing process. It is a space to welcome touring poets and writers within the Bay Area.
