Looking for some excitement Friday after work?  Come on by SOMArts because it’s your last chance to experience Totally Unrealistic: the art of abstraction featuring the work of Cecil Childress, Ralph Joachim, and Marilyn Kuksht.  Come for a quick snack and a beverage and check out the superhuman-sized steel sculptures of Marilyn Kuksht situated sumptuously (and centrally) in the main gallery.  Spend some time reflecting on linearity with the meticulous marksmanship of Ralph Joachim, or feel the subconscious experimentation and meditative video work of Cecil Childress before we are forced to deinstall the show.

This talented group of artists have brought three distinct forms of abstraction to the SOMArts main gallery and we look forward to your presence as we celebrate the show.

Lastly, we are also celebrating the photographic work of Hava Lieberman, whose abstract depictions of human ephemera on city streets line The Ramp’s gallery display case and bring a bit of urban investigation into the mix.
