Join seasoned artists and curators in a discussion about how the exhibiting artists in The San Francisco Foundation & SOMArts’ Murphy & Cadogan Contemporary Art Awards Exhibition reflect, extend and advance the rich history of art in the Bay Area. Moderated by The San Francisco Foundation’s Arts and Culture Program Associate Jaime Cortez, the panelists include Assistant Curator of the UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive Dena Beard, juror Mildred Howard, and gallerist Steven Wolf.

Other free public events include an opening reception & awards ceremony on Friday, September 7, 6:30–9pm, and Makers, Mimosas & Matinees, an afternoon of creative workshops & film screenings, Saturday, September 22, 12–3pm.
