SOMArts is pleased to announce the promotion of long-time staff member Zach Slater to Director of Neighborhood Arts Services, which provides support and consultation for San Francisco’s many street fairs and festivals ranging from small neighborhood film screenings to San Francisco Pride to the Chinatown New Year Parade. The program has a rich history and has been working with most arts and culture festivals since their grassroots beginnings.

In addition to providing below-market services to community benefit organizations, the program has historically provided mentorship to youth age 16 to 24. Zach began working with the program, then called SOMArts Technical Services, at age 18, and now has over 10 years of experience assisting community events in the construction of stages, bleachers, grandstands and sound systems.

If you would like to congratulate or connect with Zach, he can be reached at zach@somarts.org.
